Effect of Changing Position on Blood Pressure and Pulse Rate of Normal Men

Abstract
This study investigated the effect of changing position between standing and sitting groups on blood pressure and pulse rate of young men. two minutes before standing or sitting, the baseline blood pressure and pulse rate were measured.
Blood pressure and pulse rate were recorded immediately, 2 minutes and 4 minutes after standing or sitting position. Differences in blood pressure and pulse rate between standing and sitting position were evaluated.
The results obtained were as follows£º
1. Systolic and diastolic blood pressure were increased after standing or sitting position immediately, after 2 minutes, after 4 minutes than those of supine position.
2. Systolic and diastolic blood pressure after sitting position immediately were lower than those of standing position.
3. Pulse rate were increased continuously after standing or sitting position.
Form these results, it may be concluded that systolic, diastolic blood pressure and pulse rate were slightly increased after standing or sitting position. But systolic, diastolic blood pressure and pulse rate after sitting position immediately were. lower than those of standing position immediately.
